Whilst at school, Braam attended a Wilderness Leadership course in the Umfolozi game reserve in Zululand. This experience changed his life. From the ‘bush lessons’ learned, Braam decided to make a difference. At the age of just 17, he ran 532kms in 11 days to raise awareness for the plight of the Langebaan lagoon on the west coast of South Africa. As a result of his passion and efforts, he saved the lagoons eco systems from potential destruction.
