City life magazine about the DOT App
“A mobile app that aims to get people to do everyday things in a simple, yet more environment-friendly way, is set to launch in November.
The app, currently in development, is the brainchild of conservationist Braam Malherbe and fellow adventurer Peter Van Kets, who undertook a 768km race to the South Pole. The intrepid Malherbe has also run the length of the Great Wall of China, a distance of 4 218km.
Speaking at the One & Only Hotel’s 2016 Guest Speaker Series, in the V&A Waterfront, Malherbe says the aim of the app was to help people to “do one thing” in a more environment-friendly way, hence the name DOT. The app provides users with 100 options for improving the planet in four focus areas – conservation, water, waste and energy.”
